Two wind turbines standing in a green field under a clear sky

For three years our atmospheric measurement method has been the quiet engine behind every certificate we issue. This month it left the building: the full method, the calibration protocol and two years of paired field data are now with reviewers at an independent journal.

Why we asked for review

Buyers, lenders and regulators are asked to trust a number they cannot reproduce. Peer review is the slowest way to earn that trust, and the only one that does not depend on taking our word for it. A reviewer who can pick apart the sensor placement rules, the bias corrections and the uncertainty budget is worth more to a certificate than any logo.

The submission covers the three things people ask us about most: how a nacelle-mounted array is corrected for wake and tower shadow, how irradiance is reconciled across a plant with mixed module orientations, and how the two are tied to a metered export figure at the point of connection.

Paired reference and nacelle readings from a 212-turbine fleet are part of the submission.

What the reviewers are looking at

The paper is deliberately narrow. It does not argue that our numbers are right; it shows how they are produced, so that anyone with the same instruments and the same rules would arrive at the same figure.

  • Wake and tower-shadow correction for nacelle-mounted arrays

  • Irradiance reconciliation across mixed module orientations

  • An uncertainty budget for every reading, from sensor to export meter

  • Two years of paired field data from fourteen sites on three continents

What changes for customers

Nothing about the data you receive changes today. What changes is what you can say about it. Once the method is published, every Zephyra certificate will cite it, and an auditor can trace the figure on the page back to a documented, reviewed procedure.

We expect the process to take most of the year. We will publish the reviewer comments alongside the paper, including the ones we disagree with.
